Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.90%.

The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Groep Brussel Lambert NV (EBR:GBLB), which rose 0.31% or 0.20 points to trade at 65.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 0.23% or 0.06 points to end at 26.30 and KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) was up 0.22% or 0.16 points to 74.38 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which fell 2.15% or 4.15 points to trade at 188.50 at the close. Lotus Bakeries (EBR:LOTB) declined 1.65% or 180.00 points to end at 10,700.00 and Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) was down 1.59% or 9.60 points to 595.40.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 53 to 46 and 9 ended unchanged.

Shares in KBC Groep NV (EBR:KBC) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 0.22% or 0.16 to 74.38.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.66% or 17.44 to $2,614.46 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.29% or 0.91 to hit $71.51 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.92% or 0.68 to trade at $74.47 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.38% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 108.05.
